A dog garden at Chelsea Flower Show

In May 2025 we worked with Monty Don and Jamie Butterworth to create the BBC Radio 2 Dog Garden at Chelsea Flower Show. This pragmatic and fun-filled garden was based around a central lawn, which allowed its intended canine visitors to sprawl, sleep, and chase balls. A large tree provided shade for the hot afternoons, whilst alliums, topiary, and a pavillion offered something for human visitors to enjoy, too.

With Monty and Jamie leading on the garden’s design and construction, James+Cook looked after planting the space. Over the course of ten days we helped to bring Monty’s vision to life, turning a barren patch of turf into an incredible environment for dogs and their owners. Images courtesy of RHS.
